1921 Composer Richard Adler was born. Alongside Jerry Ross, he wrote two of the most influential musicals of the 1950s: The pajama game and Damn Yankees. He also wrote the score for the years 1961 Kwamina.

1943 Martin Valemelodrama The two Mrs. Carrolls opens on Broadway at the Booth Theater. Elisabeth bergner plays the role of a woman who discovers her husband (played by Victor jory) attempts to assassinate him.
